The opening charrette
session began mid-day on Wednesday, October
16, 2002 with an invitation to participate
by Governor Charles W. Turnbull and a commitment
towards the revitalization of St. Croix.
“We have done quite a bit to market
and promote St. Croix, and we will continue
to do so more and more aggressively.”
Governor Turnbull's invitation was followed
by a statement of goals by VIPFA Director
of Finance and Administration, Kenneth E.
Mapp, and a presentation by project consultant,
Coastal Systems Development, Inc, titled
“Discovering the Identity of Frederiksted.”
Coastal Systems presented the components
of a great experience and listed areas of
opportunity within the existing community.
