The participants in
the design session began the second day
of the charrette by forming four teams consisting
of a combination of design professionals
and members of the community. The goal of
this session was to formulate a variety
of design solutions from the different teams.
Based on the projects identified during
the previous session, which encompassed
most of the Frederiksted area, the teams
were given different areas in which to focus
their attention. These areas included Veterans
Park, Fort Frederik Beach and Sports Complex,
Vincent Mason Pool-West End Salt Pond, and
the overall town planning of Frederiksted.
Each team was equipped with large site plans
and drafting supplies, and so the planning
process began.
